In the UK, student loan repayments are calculated based on your income, not the amount you borrowed. You only make repayments if your income is over a specific threshold, which varies depending on your loan plan. This system is designed to be affordable.

• Plan 1: 9% on income above £24,990.
• Plan 2: 9% on income above £27,295.
• Plan 4: 9% on income above £31,395.
• Plan 5: 9% on income above £25,000.
• Postgraduate Loan: 6% on income above £21,000.

It's important to know which plan you are on to get an accurate repayment figure. If you also have a postgraduate loan, you'll repay 15% (9% + 6%) on income over the highest threshold.
